Method of operation :
The sealing mechanism of the Stepseal is based on the hydrodynamic properties of its geometric profile. The specially formed seal edge ensures that the micro-fluid film adhering to the piston rod on extension is returned to the high pressure chamber on the return stroke. This prevents overall system leakage and build up of interstage pressure common with tandem sealing configurations
